Meikle Toir, The Original 5 years old

The Original is the classic single malt that champions the peated pursuit by the folks at Meikle Toir. With mainland peat from from St Fergus this provides a sweeter style than that associated with coastal peats.

Aged in a combination of first-fill Bourbon barrels, American virgin oak casks and Rye Barrels and bottled at 50% abv, 35 PPM non-chill filtered and natural colour. 

NOSE: Baking spices, burnt honey and roasted coffee beans, with hazelnuts, smoked almonds and butterscotch.

TASTE: Wisps of sweet peat, with rich chocolate and heather honey, followed by cinnamon, ginger and oak- smoked sugar.
