Old Perth 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured 46%

A wonderful blended malt here from the Old Perth team, which celebrates the city of Perth’s whisky-making history. The brand itself can trace its roots back to 1908, when grocer Peter Thomson started his career. Today Old Perth has been brought back to life with a focus on sherry maturation and Speyside malts! This one lives up to its legacy with a full 12 years in sherry casks. It’s been bottled at natural colour with no chill-filtration.

Nose: Rich and inviting, there’s milk chocolate, dates, almonds and a fresh maltiness, all wrapped up in cinnamon and treacle.

Palate: Dark and jammy, there’s blackberry and cranberry in with dates, walnut and a slathering of honey. There’s a gentle warmth from baking spices and a prickle of oak.

Finish: Long and gentle, slightly lifted by more of those sweet spices.
